Today the President of Romania signed the decree on the promulgation of the Law for the modification of Article 50 paragraph (1) of Law no. 273 \/2004 on adoption procedure (PL-x 775\/15.12.2022) which increases the duration of the accommodation leave for parents who have adopted a child and who earn income subject to income tax, from one year, as it is currently, to two years:<\/p>\n

“Article 50 – (1) The adopter or, optionally, any of the spouses of the adopting family, who earns income subject to income tax, according to the provisions of Law no. 227\/2015 on Tax Code, as amended and supplemented, from wage-earning and similar activities or, as the case may be, from self-employed activities, royalties or agricultural activities, hereinafter referred to as the directed person, may benefit from an accommodation leave for a maximum of two years, which includes the period of custody of the child for adoption, as well as a monthly allowance.”<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
